Maintenance and Servicing


Quality Fire Protection provides the highest level of fire extinguisher servicing performed by BAFE and FETA certified highly experienced engineers. Our fire extinguisher servicing packages allow you to rest assured that your fire extinguishers will be professionally serviced to BS5306 part 3 and will be maintained at the required frequencies according to their type and current guidelines as follows:

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Basic service required annually Overhaul service required every 10 years

Dry powder, specialist dry powder, wet chemical, water additive, water and foam Basic service required annually Extended service required every 5 years

Legal Requirements

Installation and regular fire extinguisher servicing within your business is a legal requirement. Employers have a responsibility to provide fire extinguishers in the workplace and to subsequently carry out servicing thereafter. Servicing to BS5306 part 3 ensures fire extinguishers are kept in kept in good condition and will operate effectively in the event of a fire; otherwise they will not meet the regulations set out by the Fire Safety Order (2005) and your Insurance Company’s requirements.

The Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 and the associated Health & Safety legislation place an obligation on employers to ensure that their staff receive adequate fire safety training at the time when they are first employed and on there being increased or changed risks. The level and frequency of staff fire training is determined by the type, use and risk presented, it is recommended that Fire Marshall / Fire Awareness training takes place every 2 years.
